Southwest tours of Madagascar| track Morondava-Tulear by 4wd

Period: May to November

4wd raid departing from Morondava to Tulear with a driver guide to discover the beautiful landscapes of south-west along "Vezo" tribe’s littoral. The South-west coastline extends along 350km from Morondava to Tulear and conceals sumptuous landscape decorated by sailing-boat of "Vezo" fishermen. We follow the coastal track to enjoy this lonely adventure to meet inhabitants of the coast combined with relaxation on these pristine beaches of the south west.

DAY 1: Morondava – Belo/mer (110km)

Taking care of to your hotel. We start our tours of the southwest and join directly Belo/mer village, the first fisher village between Morondava to Tulear. At a few kilometers from Morondava appears already the first obstacle; we step on full the gas of the 4wd car to cross a huge salt and fords.

Afternoon: Visit of Belo/mer.

Belo/mer:

Fisher village where land big tuna, whiting…; Belo/mer is built on a sandbar wonderfully exposed at sunset. Its beautiful beaches are cover by charming shipbuilding and canoes.

- Overnight stay to Ramaro hotel or equivalent.

DAY 2: Belo/mer - Bevoay via Manja.

Driving to the small farming village of Manja (tobacco) where we will take lunch. We continue our tours and penetrate deeply to these dune areas of the south west. We pursue the sands track on 80km to connect Mangoky River where we will install our campsite.

- Camping on full board.

DAY 3: Bevoay - Andavadoaka

Early in the morning, we cross Mangoky River by ferry boat. The legend says that stranger must throw a coin into the river before crossing and then we take the track for Morombe village. We traverse an expanse of white sand and perceive after the gigantic bottles baobabs trees.

- Break lunch to Morombe.

We pursue the sand trail beside the sea and arrived to Andavadoaka village where the seaside was completely decorated by coral reef.

Andavadoaka:

Built on idyllic beach and lost at the heart of huge sand dunes, Andavadoaka village charm tourists fan of Eden. Seawards excursion, fishing and relaxation to the beach are on the day’s schedule.

- Overnight stay to Manga Lodge hotel or equivalent.

DAY 4: Andavadoaka – Salary (70km)

A half-day track on 4wd beside the sea, where we drive along the most beautiful panorama of the south west coast with "pure blue lagoons", “Reef Barrier"… We follow the track and approach the savagely coast around the small village of Befandefa before crossing hordes bottles Baobab trees and those big fake cactus pointed skywards. Then, we trail towards Ambatomiloha village built by lobster fishermen on a dune site.

- Overnight stay to Salary bay hotel or equivalent to 02 nights.

DAY 5: Visiting Salary.

Free day: relaxation to the beaches and boat trip to these blue logons. We pass through the idyllic coast dotted with mangroves and euphorbia of Salary to discover the nice blue lagoons. Local inhabitant will greet you "salama Vaza" or “Hello stranger” which testifies hospitality of these people.

DAY 6: Salary - Ifaty

Half-day on 4wd car, we pass through the last kilometers of thorny forest punctuated by Baobabs which will lead us straight to Ifaty beach, one of the best seaside sites to Madagascar. We will take lunch to Ifaty.

- Overnight stay to Ifaty Beach Club hotel or equivalent.
